The City Council approved two measures at its March 26 special meeting that will assist the Gates Corporation resume its rubber hose production line.The council approvals will allow the company to expand its local facility by 87 employees, with 71 in production and an additional 16 in support staff.The council unanimously approved a company grant application for $50,000, which the it will use to train new employees. The council also approved a measure to assist the plant with equipment storage for up to six months during the facility's expansion.
The rubber hose production line was moved from Galesburg to other locations. Bringing the line back to the Galesburg plant will increase employment from about 108 to 195 employees, according to a press release.Dover broke a 10-all deadlock in Game 1 with a five-point run and never looked back in taking the early lead. The Eagles led throughout Game 2, although the Panthers made it interesting by drawing to within 21-20.
Kennedy called a timeout at that point to regroup his side and it worked perfectly.
