The work is being done to repair a closed mine entrance that was accidentally uncovered by Miller on May 3 and released millions of gallons of trapped water. The new drainage system, a series of manholes, pipes and ditches, will convey the water down Rolling Acres Road and to Hardins Run. Workers also replaced 30-inch pipes under Commerce Street that are part of a city storm drain.
