Police are searching for three armed suspects following a reported home invasion and robbery in Long Lake, Minn.Three black men entered the home of John and Karen Davis around 2 p.m. at 294 Glenmore Avenue on Saturday afternoon, bound them with duct tape and held them at gunpoint, stealing their red 2014 Kia Sorento, Minnesota plate number 723-KVL, both of their wallets and cell phones. When the couple was able to break free, they called police around 3:40 p.m. Police saw a trail of blood leading from the house but do not believe it came from John or Karen Davis.
John Davis was taken to North Memorial for back and neck injuries. Karen Davis was punched in the nose by one of the intruders but refused treatment. She is currently at home recovering. Police say their injuries are not serious and they are expected to recover.Wayzata police have had jurisdiction over the address since 2011 -- it was previously covered by Orono police. Since 2011, Wayzata police have had 22 calls to this address for various reports, including harassment, court order violations and pointing a gun at an officer. We've seen a lot of reports from Angie's List members in which they were quoted prices ranging from $49 to more than $1,000 for air-duct cleaning. With such a wide array of pricing, how is a homeowner to know what to pay? I r.mend you start by avoiding the super-low "deals."
If you hire a reputable.pany to clean your ducts, expect to pay $300 to $500, depending on the size of your house, the number of ducts you have and how difficult or easy it is for the.pany to access them.In your case, the cost probably will be closer to $500 than $300, but check with a few.panies in your area to see what they charge. What's most important is to find a.pany with a good reputation in your.munity. Unfortunately, duct cleaning is an industry in which we see some.panies try bait-and-switch tactics. These scammers will advertise that unbelievably low rate — typically with a coupon in a mailer or flier — and then immediately start tacking on up-charges or use scare tactics, such as saying they've found mold in your ducts, almost as soon as they get in the door.

Heating Offers Electrostatic Filter With Duct Cleaning
Local Mesa, Arizona air conditioning company, Air Care Cooling & composite hose manufacturers, is offering electrostatic filters with a duct cleaning service for a limited time. Electrostatic filters are an important component to maintaining a safe, clean indoor air environment. Air Care is extending this limited time offer to its customers, both current and new. Electrostatic filters are included with the whole house duct cleaning service.
Clean Air Ducts in Arizona are an important feature for any home, removing dangerous allergens from the indoor air environment. Over time, dirt and dust can collect on return air registers where dirt eventually gathers in the air ducts themselves. Even mold can grow in the air duct, causing a whole new set of air quality issues. The dirt and mold will spread throughout the home when it is blown in the vents, taking the overall indoor air quality down.
This can be especially dangerous for young children and allergy sufferers, which is why the EPA recommends that air ducts are cleaned on a semi-regular basis. An air duct cleaning allows the HVAC technician to look for signs of growing mold or even rodents inside the duct work and prevent any major issues before they become problems. Air Care and their NATE certified technicians want to help their customers prevent any potential health problems with their air duct cleaning service.
The included electrostatic filters will go that extra mile to prevent toxins from gathering in the duct work once they have been properly cleaned. An electrostatic filter is imperative to help trap and filter out dust, bacteria, mold, pollen, marine fuel hose, and even viruses. Instead of allowing those particles to spread throughout the duct work and the Phoenix air conditioning system, and in turn the inside of the home, the included electrostatic filter will help protect homes from the invisible dangers in the air homeowners breathe every day.The electrostatic filters will ensure that Air Care's customers get the most out of their duct cleaning service and are protected for months to come.

It's really an all-American product
It was nearly midnight on a recent Friday when Keith Urig finally called it quits, though he and his friends weren't quite finished with their life-size model of the time-traveling DeLorean from "Back to the Future."The pulley system he had rigged up to lift the famous vertically opening gullwing doors was still jerky, and the fog machine was only pushing vapors out of one exhaust port."We've been working on the float for three weeks now," said Mr. Urig, a 40-year-old owner of a small excavating.pany. "Your fingers definitely get tired from ripping up tape."That is because the faux DeLorean automobile that Mr. Urig helped build for this town's annual parade—along with a 12-foot-tall clock tower also from a scene in the film—was made mostly of duct tape.
In recent years, the tough adhesive, originally designed to waterproof munitions boxes during World War II, has been transformed from a trusty household repair tool to a geeky status symbol. Devotees craft everything from prom dresses to runway fashions to boutique items like wallets, purses and jewelry. Here in Avon, a town of almost 22,000 outside Cleveland that bills itself as "The Duct Tape Capital of the World," things go a bit further, with an annual three-day celebration of the stuff. At this year's 10th annual Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival, there was a duct tape fashion show and duct tape sculptures of everything from giant Buddy Holly eyeglasses to a towering silver duct system. Thousands of visitors strutted their stuff in sticky homemade creations. The highlight was a parade with 19 floats vying for top prize.
"It's really an all-American product," said Bill Kahl, executive vice president of marketing at ShurTech Brands, the locally based maker of Duck Brand duct tape and one of the largest employers in town. "Kind of like bluejeans."ShurTech, whose Duck Tape Facebook FB +1.25% page has 5.3 million fans, provided each parade participant with 60 rolls—or roughly 600 yards—of tape to fashion floats for the festival. For Mr. Urig, that wasn't nearly enough. "We had to scrounge every store in town," he said. "I called my sister who lives a half-hour west of here. She picked up 20 more rolls for us."

This shows that the motion of a book launched off a table
Now if you put this vertical and horizontal motion together at the same time, you get projectile motion. The key to projectile motion is the idea that the vertical motion and the horizontal motion are essentially independent of each other Grain oil hoses suppliers. You can try a very simple and fun experiment. Set a book on the edge of a table so it is just about to fall off. Now get another book and slide it so it barely collides with the book on the edge. What should happen is that both books will fall off the table at the same time but with different horizontal speeds. However, since both books start at the same height with the same vertical speed, they will hit the ground at the same time.
This shows that the motion of a book launched off a table is a.bination of vertical and horizontal motions. The horizontal motion is at a constant speed and the vertical motion accelerates. Here is a diagram that shows this idea. The red dots show the motion of a ball. The green dots show the motion of a ball with the exact same horizontal speed as the red ball. Finally, the blue dots show a ball with the same vertical motion as the red ball.
But what does this have to do with range? I'm getting there. I assume that the starting speed of the water is the same no matter what angle it is launched at. So, how do you make the water go the farthest? One idea would be to shoot it.pletely horizontal. In this case, all of the speed of the water would be in the horizontal direction. However, it wouldn't go very far. Tank truck hoses suppliers? Because the water wouldn't be in the air for any significant time. You need to keep the water in the air for as long as possible.
Well, then you could shoot the water straight up. That would keep it in the air for the longest time. True. However, in that case there would be no horizontal.ponent of the water's velocity so it wouldn't go horizontally at all. There needs to be some balance between time in the air and horizontal motion. That balance happens to be at a launch angle of 45°. Here is a much more detailed derivation of this maximum range.

Gobain is marketing three lines of flexible hose
Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Corp. is marketing three new hose lines, all of which provide increased flexibility. Its PureGard Plus-HP is a high-purity hose used in applications such as liquid filling lines, load cells, product transfer, steam-in-place and clean-in-place.The other two are chemical transfer hoses—the Chemfluor Convoflex BCSR, an anti-static offering, and the Chemfluor Convoflex WCSR, a multipurpose product. The PureGard Plus-HP hose was developed for customers that want a high-purity offering but one that was more flexible than the traditional Teflon hoses that have been offered in the industry, according to Lily Lei, Saint-Gobain marketing manager for fluid systems.
Saint-Gobain made the hose with multiple layers of reinforced platinum-cured silicone, stainless steel helical wire reinforcement and an extruded FEP liner, which is bonded to the silicone hose to give a high-purity fluid path while maintaining fluid integrity, the.pany said. The product is constructed using only materials.pliant to Food and Drug Administration standards to reduce potential contamination of sensitive fluids, the firm said."The solution we brought to the industry is we.bined the silicone with the fluoropolymer," Lei said. "The fluoropolymer is in the core to give high purity, chemical resistance and the smooth bore. Then we reinforced it with silicone, which still gives high purity but also the flexibility of a silicone hose."
Saint-Gobain targeted the product for personal care uses such as shampoos, creams and lotions. One customer from Thailand already is using the hose for its filling applications. It is available in internal diameters of 3/8 to 2 inches. While the hose is available, Lei said the firm is just starting its marketing push for it in North America. "We're working with our distributors and visiting end users to show them the product," she said. Both of the chemical transfer hoses provide flexibility, high pressure ratings and chemical resistance, and they can be used for bulk transfers of chemical, steam, solvents, acid, adhesives and other materials. The WCSR multipurpose hose is made with an EPDM rubber-covered SS braided low profile and a PTFE inner core. It gives a reduced force-to-bend and smaller minimum bend radius when.pared to smooth bore rubber-covered hoses, the.pany said.

Verderflex Hose Pump offers easy maintenance to Water Treatment Plant
The AySA San Martin plant situated in the heart of the city of Buenos Aires serves around 8 million people and treats around 3,000,000m3 of water a day. The pumping station has 7 x Verderflex Dura 35 hose pumps running. So when the new AySA Bernal plant in the south of Buenos Aires needed pumps they also chose the Verderflex Dura 35. The AySA Bernal PLANT serves about 3.4million people and treats around 900,000m3 of water per day.The Verderflex Dura 35 peristaltic hose pumps were chosen because of the compact nature, especially compared with alternatives such as screw pumps. The Dura 35 has the added benefit that the corrosive PAC fluid being pumped does not come into contact with any moving parts and is totally contained within the heavy-duty hose.
The Dura 35 also offers very easy maintenance with the only significant wear part being the hose. The plant manager is very happy indeed with the performance and low maintenance of the pumps. He stated that ,"Gone are the days where we have to go down to the hardware store and buy a coupling or a bearing to repair the pump, there is only the hose and that's it, we can change the hose in situ".Dunkirk Hose Company No. 1 recently held its 147th annual banquet at the Fireside Manor.
Co-chairmen were company president David Van Wey and financial secretary Richard Titus. The head table consisted of invited guests, including Dunkirk Mayor Anthony Dolce, Fourth Ward Councilwoman Stacy Szukala and her husband Robert, master of ceremonies David Buck and his wife, Van Wey and his wife, and guest speaker Robert Frank and his wife. This was a very special banquet as there were four 60-year members in attendance. These included Robert Michalski, Leonard Schrantz, Robert Teclaw and Carl Waterman. These four members were honorary chairmen for the banquet. Also honored were three 30-year members: Todd Ellman, Gary Haase and Van Wey.

When your design has been sufficiently exposed
Recently, we ran a piece questioning why it is so difficult to find Iowa Hawkeye-themed duct tape, and in the comments, some enterprising readers pointed out that rolls are available in certain locations. But that did not put our minds to rest. What if HaWkMoM_64 sells all of her stock on eBay? What if you can't make it in person to Iowa Book & Supply? In that case you would be composite hose. So to plan for that terrible eventuality, we hereby present our first ever BHGP Instructable:Find a current Hawkeye duct tape design and rip it off shamelessly, or design your own! Maybe you want to make the first duct tape with Tim Dwight's bald head on it, or Hayden Fry's aviator glasses. This is your chance to be creative, but be forewarned: using the words Iowa, Hawkeyes, Hawks, or the likenesses of any players living or dead will likely land you in hot water, legally speaking.
Whatever you decide on for your design, remember it must be no more than 1.87" tall. Draw it carefully or print it out on your construction paper in black and white.Remove the glass from the small picture frame and wrap the scrap of fabric around the frame until it is taut. Affix the fabric to the front of the frame with a staple gun. Coat the screen on the back of the frame with emulsion from the photo emulsion kit, then allow to dry in a dark room for five minutes. When dry, place your design directly underneath the screen and expose to a strong UV light source a light table would be ideal, but a sunny day works fine too.
When your design has been sufficiently exposed, rinse it off with water. The drawn parts should wash away, leaving you with a stencil, ready to print!Take your 98 feet of 2x4 lumber and join end to end using your favorite joinery technique. Attach 2x4 legs every six feet to the wide part of the boards. You will now have a 98'-long structure that resembles a train bridge or a Roman aqueduct. Use your router to route out a Flexible hose channel throughout the structure. If you plan on using the workstation again, you should strongly consider applying a few coats of polyurethane finish. For maximum efficiency, sand the channel with 120 grit sand paper and then apply finishing wax.

'Pocket Hose' does not disappoint
Carole Ellis lives in Beechmont, is retired and has wandered Mexico for 25 winters in a van camper with her husband."As seen on TV" products often make enticing claims that seldom materialize. I frequently buy them, sans shipping costs, when they arrive at local stores. Almost as frequently, they are returned for refunds when they fail to perform. The recent appearance of the "Pocket Hose" at drug and discount stores for $19.95 intrigued and warranted a skeptical trial, so I brought it home.Frigid temperatures prevented my trying it right away. Impatiently, I awaited a day warm enough to turn on the outside water for a trial of the "miracle" hose.
Finally a 60-degree, sunny day gave me the chance, and — yes! — that small green handful of hose unfurled to 50 feet with nary a kink. When the water was turned off, it magically shrank to the small original little bundle and lay by the faucet in a neat pile. It was extremely lightweight and easy to handle compared to the 50 feet of heavy, tangled rubber hose. And the small bundle was so much less obtrusive than the snake-like rubber hose that coiled helter-skelter on the lawn.Even though the Pocket Hose is a bit pricey at $19.99, this is one "as seen on TV" purchase that is a "keeper" at our house and will likely be joined by another for the front yard. You can find your hose at most department stores, drugstores and home suppliers. Bed Bath & Beyond had a huge display in its lobby.
Each week, Journal Star staffers will share what we're listening to, reading, eating, watching, wearing or otherwise generally loving right now. These are real, actual ravings, not paid content.Although I'm not usually one to buy what I see in infomercials, a friend recommended this, and after I saw the positive consumer report on it, decided it would be well worth my $19.95. The lime green hose that scrunches up when there is no water in it and stretches to reach the back of my garden is lightweight, has good pressure and is easy to haul around the yard. It may not exactly fit in my pocket, but it does stay pretty small when not in use and gets a big green thumbs up.
